Part of every price we pay goes to rent for land and natural resources.
For example, when you pay someone "reasonable compensation" for work, what makes it reasonable? - how it compares to the current cost of food, clothing, shelter. Consider how many times ground rent enters in to the price tab for each of these necessities.
